Description
ETHILON™ Suture, Black, 2-0, FS, 18", is a nonabsorbable monofilament suture composed of polyamide 6, a long-chain aliphatic polymer. It is designed for soft tissue approximation and ligation in situations requiring extended tensile strength without absorption. The monofilament construction provides smooth tissue passage and minimal tissue trauma during insertion.
The suture is dyed black to enhance visibility against tissue, aiding in precise placement and handling during surgical procedures. It exhibits excellent pliability and flexibility, offering consistent performance across a variety of applications. The FS needle is a 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle, ideal for use in skin, subcuticular, and other dense tissue closures.
ETHILON™ elicits minimal acute inflammatory response upon implantation, reducing the risk of early tissue reaction. It maintains stability in tissue over time, with encapsulation and degradation occurring very slowly—typically over the course of one to two years. This property supports long-term wound support in non-absorbable surgical protocols.
